Does a new car need a technical inspection?

In Montenegro, a regular technical inspection is not required for three years from first registration if the vehicle was not in a traffic accident (RTSA Art. 264). Registration and mandatory insurance still apply.

Buses, emergency/public-use vehicles, and heavy trucks have shorter exemptions. That is not the same as a private car.
